Happy New Year! What’s Your Resolution?

Every year, millions of people across the country make New Year resolutions. If you’re one of them, this list might sound familiar..

Most of us have probably made a New Year’s resolution at some point in our lives. But, according to statistics published by Website statisticbrain.com and verified by the University of Scranton, Journal of Clinical Psychology, only 8% of us are actually successful in achieving our goal. But that won’t stop us from making the same resolution next year.

Here’s the top 10:

1 – Lose weight
2 – Get organized
3 – Spend less, save more
4 – Enjoy life to the fullest
5 – Staying fit and healthy
6 – Learn something exciting
7 – Quit smoking
8 – Help others fulfill their dreams
9 – Fall in love
10 – Spend more time with family

See yourself there? Here are a few interesting statistics:

  • 45% of Americans usually make New Year’s resolutions; 38% never do
  • 49% of people have infrequent success; 24% never succeed
  • 47% of resolutions made are related to self-improvement or education
  • 38% are weight related
  • 34% are money related

There’s one more statistic about people who make resolutions that’s very interesting: 39% of people in their twenties achieve their resolution each year but only 14% of people who are 50 and over achieve success. The reasons for that may vary and we’re certainly not going to hazard a guess.

All of us here at NationaLease wish you a happy, healthy, and successful New Year, whatever your resolutions may be.
