Recognize the talent that exists within your technician team and let those that shine play a leading role in inspiring others.
If you’re lucky enough to have a “star” technician in your company, don’t let that talent go to waste. That’s the message given by Jane Clark, Vice President of Member Services for NationaLease in a recent IdeaXchange blog.
The larger your team, the more likely there will be a range of talent and performance for PM inspections and service. That’s why it’s important to not only recognize the top technicians in your team you should also identify what make them so valuable. And that could mean observing exactly how they do their job and then potentially codifying that behavior into a PM inspection process standard that all technicians need to follow.
That may mean producing a written manual so that if those top technicians retire or move on, the procedures that made them exceptional will still be able to be followed by the rest of the team as well as any new hires.
