On February 8 and 9 in Miami, Florida, the NationaLease Young Executives Club Members held their seventeenth meeting. The NYEC reinforces the relationships between these current and future leaders of NationaLease. The group kicked off their meeting with a formal introduction of the members, which included one new addition to the group, followed by an enlightening Business Outlook discussion where the group shared their experiences in their marketplace, as well as challenges they’ve been facing with rental utilization and the competition. The group continued their candid discussion with what items are currently “keeping them up at night” which was met with great advice from the diverse group.
The next sessions involved a tumultuous topic on everyone’s list—ELDs. Zack Labarre with Zed Connect and Andrew Stasiowski from the Truck Rental and Leasing Association joined the group for a presentation and open discussion. After lunch, the group got right back to it with a session from David Renz, Chairman of the NationaLease Board of Directors, who discussed current BOD initiatives and requested feedback from NYEC members. Kelly Kordowski with NationaLease shared a quick overview of NationaLease offerings, and navigating nationalease.com. For the final session of the day, veteran member, Matt Cummings with Cummings Leasing, a NationaLease Member joined the group to share his story with leading a NationaLease organization. After wrapping up day one, the networking continued as the group mingled in a true South Beach setting—Mango’s on Ocean Drive.
The NYEC reconvened on Friday morning with a member-driven discussion session filled with pressing issues amongst the group—service and sales metrics & corresponding KPIs, as well as rental contract language and fee structures and many more. After a quick break, the group discussed technology advances to help improve their businesses. The group wrapped up the meeting with discussion on the next NYEC meeting, tentatively scheduled for July 2018.
