In 1944, the heads of seventeen independent truck leasing companies from all over the US met in Chicago and formed the National Truck Leasing System, which became NationaLease. Although the overarching goal was to promote the truck leasing industry, members soon realized that each of them was also benefitting from the interactions they were having with one another through shared ideas and insights.

From these 17 original members, NationaLease has grown to boast a membership of 150 independent businesses with more than 900 locations throughout the US and Canada and a combined fleet of more than 155,000 tractors, trucks, and trailers. And the reciprocal service that members provide one another makes NationaLease unique when compared to its national competitors. Our reciprocal service program provides our customers with the assurance that, no matter where their trucks travel, there is a NationaLease member ready to help with any breakdowns or issues. And our aggregated buying power means that our customers are able to get competitive pricing for parts and services as well as for trucks, trailers, and more.

Because we are made up of individual businesses rather than a major corporation, we understand the needs of individual customers, making us a preferred resource for the transportation needs of companies, large and small.

National connections and local ownership – that’s the recipe for 75 successful years. And we’re just getting started.
