Setting the Stage for Sales Success

NationaLease held its 2017 Sales Meeting in San Diego at the Loew’s Coronado Bay on November 13-14. Jane Clark, Vice President of Member Services for NationaLease welcomed the attendees and thanked this year’s planning committee: Ray Swesey, Brown NationaLease; Pat Herron, DeCarolis Truck Rental, Inc., a NationaLease Member; Paul Brown, Interstate NationaLease, Daniel Duquette, Location Brossard NationaLease; Tom Roath, Miller NationaLease and Keith Keylock, TEC Leasing, a NationaLease Member. She then introduced Joe Gallick, Senior Vice President of National Account Sales for NationaLease who gave an update on the National Accounts program. Dean Vicha, NationaLease President, gave an overview of the initiatives underway at NationaLease, then each of the NationaLease National Account Executives shared updates on their territories, current accounts, prospective accounts, and information they have gathered to help each of the members. The evening concluded with a Trade and Technology Reception featuring several of NationaLease’s supplier partners.

The second day of the meeting focused on sales training. Brent Hamachek of Segueway began the day with a sales training session covering a wide range of topics including leadership, finance, negotiations, and strategic planning. Scott Marzec, Member Programs Manager with NationaLease joined the group to share details on new capital equipment programs, an overview of other supply management programs, and an update on ELDs.

The afternoon session continued with Michael Caceci, Owner of Excellerated Performance, LLC. Mike’s sales training focused on aligning people, process and strategy in order to achieve sales goals. Crystal Lindsey, President of 333 Social Media, followed with an engaging presentation that gave attendees 3 easy things to do to start driving referrals from social media. Jane Clark then gave an update on programs and services provided by NationaLease to assist members in their sales efforts. The sessions concluded with a tremendous presentation on leadership from Captain J.J. “Yank” Cummings, former Commanding Officer of the USS Anchorage. Captain Cummings shared his unique perspective on the importance of leadership and what qualities a great leader exhibits. He also described how these qualities affect the performance of an aircraft carrier crew, and how vital the military is to the safety of our country.

The meeting ended with a Closing Dinner. Next year’s NationaLease Sales Meeting will be held in Naples, FL at the Naples Grande Beach Resort, on November 14-15, 2018.
