Jane Clark: On the Road – May 2026

There is nothing quite like hitting the open road to connect with the heartbeat of our industry. Recently, I packed up and headed down I-80, taking in the sights of the Midwest. The drive is always a great reminder of the sheer scale of the transportation sector, especially as I rolled by Elkhart—home to the RV Hall of Fame and seemingly acres of RVs and motor homes. Seeing the constant flow of commercial vehicles on the highway is a fantastic testament to the hardworking folks who keep our supply chain moving forward.

My destination was Transport NationaLease in Montpelier, Ohio, where we gathered to celebrate a well-deserved retirement lunch for Joe Huston, Maintenance Director. While the focus was on honoring Joe’s years of dedication and the standard of excellence he leaves behind in the shop, it was also a wonderful opportunity to connect with the leadership team and discuss what lies ahead.

I had the pleasure of chatting with Larry Dean and Buck Muehlfeld to discuss the road ahead for our NationaLease family, and the momentum we are building for the rest of the year. We discussed upcoming events designed to support our members, including our Maintenance Managers Meeting, Financial Officers Meeting, and Annual Meeting, as well as the purchasing programs that deliver value and efficiency to our members.

The strength of NationaLease has always been our people and our partnerships. Whether we are celebrating a milestone like Joe’s retirement or strategizing for our upcoming challenges and opportunities, the shared commitment to excellence remains at the core of everything we do.

Thank you to the entire team at Transport NationaLease for a great visit and a warm welcome, and all the best to Joe and Scottie in your next chapter!

Until next time, stay safe and keep those wheels turning!
